Canduino the CAN interface shield for Arduino
Back in 2010 due to the complete lack of affordable and open CAN tools I started the Canduino project hosted on Google Code. The project grew beyond anything that I had ever imagined with SK Pang and then Sparkfun marketing vastly improved versions of my original shield. Whether their boards were developed directly from Canduino or just evolved independently I do not know. I was however often contacted by users of those boards for support using the early Canduino code so I am proud to have been apart of the ecosystem.
The Canduino shield for Arduino was one of the first CAN shields and libraries available. It was a very simple CAN implementation making use of the popular Microchip MCP2515.
Canduino legacy source code and schematics can be found here.
